Thawatchai Piyawat, Ph.D.

Thawatchai is the mastermind of UsableLabs. Despite his unusual thoughts and behaviors, Thawatchai is actually educated. Thawatchai, in 1997, earned M.S. (Computer Science) from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., USA. In 2001 and 2002, Thawatchai received M.S. (Information Systems) and Ph.D. (Information Systems) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA.

After Thawatchai realized that a Ph.D. does no good for making money, he came back to Thailand to be an assistant professor in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.

Thawatchai spends little time make students believe that he knows how to run a business. He prefers staying with his usable computers coding some usable programs.

Jantawan Piyawat, Ph.D.

Jantawan is the second-in-command of UsableLabs. Jantawan is responsible for making UsableLabs appear professional and appealing enough for sponsors to give UsableLabs money to play with.

Jantawan received M.S. (Information Systems) and Ph.D. (Information Systems) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA in 1999 and 2002.

The only kind of people Jantawan does really care is “users.” As a researcher in the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Jantawan works round-the-clock to eliminate the long suffering of users everywhere from bad user interface.

Jantawan is a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.

Soontree Sae-Tun

Soontree is our beloved manager. She commands everything around UsableLabs. Soontree makes sure that every projects run smoothly under her benevolent dictatorship.

Soontree hopes for world peace, but she has never been a contestant for Miss Universe. Soontree, however, joins UsableLabs and aims to liberate the world through usability engineering.

Before being the first UsableLabs employee in 2007, Soontree was an IT system testing specialist at the Kasikorn Bank. Soontree holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. Soontree can be contacted at soontree at usablelabs dot org.

Surakarn Samkaew

Surakarn is a truth seeker. He believes that a better world exists for all of us, and it is not far. The world is only hands reach away. So, he contributes his two hands, with ten fast-moving fingers, to make better software that helps make better world.

Surakarn receives a bechalor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand.

Prior to joining UsableLabs, Surakarn writes C# and Java in a software company where he finds too many lines of codes yield nothing for no reason. With Python and Ruby we primarily use here, Surakarn’s life is more peaceful now.
